Schools may offer in-house assistance on top of ACE Scholarships. Additionally, in most instances, students may receive more than one type of scholarship from different scholarship organizations. It is typically best practice to apply the ACE scholarship before other types of assistance/scholarships. However, there are specific requirements for combining multiple awards in the below states:
Arkansas
ACE offers both private and tax-credit (Philanthropic Investment in Arkansas Kids or PIAK) scholarships in Arkansas. A student would receive either a private or a tax-credit award through ACE but never both.
In Arkansas, students may be awarded PIAK awards through multiple Scholarship Granting Organizations; however, the awards should not exceed the cost of the student’s tuition and fees.
Additionally, in Arkansas students may also qualify for an award through the Educational Freedom Account (EFA or LEARNS). Students may have both an ACE private award and an EFA. Students may have both a tax-credit award and an EFA only if the student has a disability. Again, ACE recommends applying the ACE award before the EFA as EFA funds may also be used toward fees and other approved expenses such as uniforms.
Kansas
ACE offers both private and tax-credit (Tax Credit for Low-Income Students Scholarship Program or TCLISSP) scholarships in Kansas. A student would receive either a private or a tax-credit award through ACE but never both.
In Kansas, students may be awarded TCLISSP awards through multiple Scholarship Granting Organizations; however, the awards should not exceed the lesser of $8,000 or the cost of the student’s tuition and fees.
Louisiana
Scholarships in Louisiana are made through the Tuition Donation Credit Program. Students may not receive duplicate awards in Louisiana. Students can only have an award through either ACE, Arete, Son of a Saint, San Damiano, Aspiring Scholars, Louisiana Scholarship Program, or School Choice Program for Students with Exceptionalities.
Montana
ACE offers both private and tax-credit (Tax Credit for Qualified Education Contributions) scholarships in Montana. A student would receive either a private or a tax-credit award through ACE but never both.
In Montana, students may be awarded tax-credit awards through multiple Scholarship Granting Organizations; however, the awards should not exceed the lesser of per-pupil average of total public school expenditures or the student’s tuition and fees.
