There are multiple reasons why a student may not have been awarded. In order to be awarded an ACE Scholarship, families must meet the qualifications and complete their application in full on FACTS by the application deadline, including all required documentation.
Some years we have more applicants than funds available, meaning not all qualified applicants will receive an award. We award as many students as we are able given the funding available. When awarding, ACE first prioritizes returning scholars then by greatest need among all qualified applicants within the state. Please see below for a more detailed breakdown of application denial reasons.
Incomplete Application by Deadline: This means that your application was incomplete as of the application deadline (April 15th at 11:59 p.m. in the time zone in which the school resides) either due to missing documentation, incomplete application questions, or missing application fee. It could also mean that you uploaded documents by the application deadline, but they were rejected by FACTS, and new documents were not submitted by the time we began the awarding process.
Did Not Meet Eligibility Guidelines: This means that your application or student was not eligible to be awarded, whether due to not meeting our financial eligibility requirements, not meeting our grade requirements, or other market specific requirements. Eligiblity information is included on the landing page for each state’s application, which applicants view prior to starting the ACE application.
No More Scholarship Funds Available: This means that while your application was completed on time and eligible, unfortunately we did not have enough available funds to award your student. We award as many students as we are able to given the available funding.
Received Another Scholarship: This means that we have been made aware of another scholarship you are receiving that makes you ineligible to be awarded an ACE scholarship. This can vary depending on the specific scholarship and state.
Applicants who are not awarded are encouraged to apply again in the following year.
